Cotton is a soft, staple fibre which is most commonly spun into yarn or thread and used to make soft fabrics.
Bag People produce Cotton Bags in 140gsm / 5oz fabric which has a higher thread count than lighter alternatives to give a more stable and durable end-product.
A higher thread count also gives a more substantial feeling to the end-product and – when made into a bag – will hold more ink during the printing process to create a much clearer and more precise reproduction of the artwork being used.
Cotton Bags are very popular for a number of reasons :
- total biodegradability
- light weight
- low cost
- ease of production
- 140gsm cotton is generally only available in natural (unbleached) colour
Recycled Canvas
We can also supply all our medium and heavy weight canvas bags using Recycled Canvas Fabric.
Printing
Cotton can be easily screen printed with up to 6 colours (3 colours is optimal). Screen printing is the most economical method of printing.
However, more complex logos can require Heat Transfer or Sublimation print, which are slightly more expensive but look great.
