What is P.E.T.?
P.E.T. is the common abbreviation for Polyethylene Terephthalate which usually exists as a clear, opaque or white polymer – most commonly used for packaging, primarily water bottles and food containers.
What are our Recycled P.E.T. Bags made from?
Our Recycled P.E.T. Bags are made from the non-woven fabric form of Recycled P.E.T.
What is non-woven fabric?
Non-woven fabric is a manufactured (man-made) fabric bonded together by chemical, mechanical, heat or solvent treatment. It is usually pressed with uniform pattern of some type to give it the appearance of a woven fabric.
Early non-woven fabric lacked strength and stability, but recent developments in manufacturing techniques have allowed much greater strength to be achieved with non-woven technologies.
What is the percentage of Recycled Content?
Our non-woven Recycled P.E.T. fabric can be made using up to 100% recycled materials (mostly post-consumer waste ie. plastic water bottles).
Can Recycled P.E.T. be Recycled again?
Yes - it is possible to recycle your old non-woven Recycled PET fabric bags. Your local Council or Waste Management authorities can advise your nearest collection point.
Is Recycled P.E.T. fabric as strong as normal non-woven fabric?
Our Recycled P.E.T. non-woven fabric is about 40% stronger than regular non-woven fabric.
What Bag styles can be made from PET?
Just about any bag styles can be made using our Recycled P.E.T. fabric, however, our min. order quantity is 5,000 units for Recycled P.E.T.
Can Recycled P.E.T. be printed on?
Yes – in fact, Recycled P.E.T. can withstand higher temperatures than conventional non-woven fabrics, which means a wider variety of print options are available. We can use sublimation printing as well as standard screen print (Sublimation printing can be useful for very detailed images).
Why would I use conventional non-woven fabric if Recycled P.E.T. is so much better?
Recycled P.E.T. is about 20% more expensive than other non-woven options and at the moment can only be produced in white.
What if I prefer to use BIODEGRADABLE fabrics?
We also have a range of bags made from Cotton, Canvas and Jute which are fully biodegradable fabrics – we offer Cotton and Canvas in Recycled Fabric also.
